Peltor Worktunes Review

!±8± Peltor Worktunes Review

On a whim, I bought a couple of pieces of work Peltor AM / FM radio headphones. I usually a pair of headphones and / or use ear plugs (or sometimes both), depending on the work I do. And clearly, if I want to listen to the radio, I have to remove them if you do not use any power tools, or do I have the radio turned up in the workshop.

The best part of them:
I always keep it on the head. Instead of taking them off and leaves them on.I am even using them during applications that are probably right on the edge of requiring hearing protection.

The Good:
As a hearing protector they are great. They come with a NRR 22, which is somewhat standard for ear muffs. They will also fit a giant head pretty comfortably. The radio also comes in clearly, and has a great range of volume. The controls are well placed and simple to adjust while you are wearing them.

The Not So Good:
The battery cover should have been designed to be a little bit sturdier.

The Potential Downsides:
If you have the radio volume turned up too high, the combination of that plus the hearing protection will prevent you from hearing anything else at all. So you'll have to be aware of your surroundings if you're working in a dangerous environment.

Overall, I would give these headphones a 9 out of 10 rating (10 being the best).
